The Kensington Cottage is a fabulous two-bedroom, two-bathroom London vacation apartment that has been totally and exquisitely remodeled in high style to comfortably accommodate four people. With a private terrace off the dining room and a second private terrace off the upstairs master bedroom - amenities you won't find in most London vacation apartments - you'll be able to experience Olde England in grand style, reveling in modern luxury in a setting that takes you back 200 years.

Set on a quiet and charming mews, complete with original Victorian arch and columns that frame the entrance to the cobble-stoned streets. One of the last remaining horse stables in London was located a few doors away in this until a few years ago and the picturesque location is so authentic of Victorian England that a number of movies have been filmed here.

Step through the front door of the London vacation apartment and walk up a short flight of stairs to the large and sunny living room, dining room, and open kitchen. This large room measures approximately 900 square feet and was originally a cluster of rooms in Victorian times. They have been gloriously combined into one, providing a dramatic feeling of light and space.

Charming Victorian features have been retained and contrast well with the completely modern kitchen and furniture. Dark hardwood floors and sea grass carpets blend with the chocolate brown sofa and plush beige linen armchairs. The designer sofas, arm chairs, and large leather coffee table cluster around the fireplace, creating a comfortable room in which to relax in your London apartment. A beautiful leather armchair sits at the end of this arrangement, perfect for settling down to a good book at the end of your day.

Three large windows behind the sofa provide loads of natural light in the London vacation apartment as well as a panoramic view onto the quiet Victorian street. There is plenty of good lighting throughout, something we look for in our London vacation rentals, but this fabulous property offers state-of-the-art controls in every room.

Living room with flat-screen TV, DVD player & free internet
There is a flat-screen TV and DVD player in the living room so you can catch up on the news or watch a good movie, free high speed internet, and there's also a stereo so you can listen to your favorite music while preparing dinner. The bookshelves are filled with leather bound volumes of English literature, giving you a feeling of Olde England.

Spacious kitchen with modern appliances and fittings
The kitchen is cutting edge design, with Corian countertops and stainless steel appliances. This London vacation apartment has everything. Find a full-sized refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, convection oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, as well as all of the pots, pans, and utensils you will ever need to prepare lavish meals. There is also a full complement of porcelain dishes, cutlery, glasses, and quality linens to set an immaculate table.

The stainless steel work table is an added plus, with storage drawers that hold the pots and pans below.

One of the best features is the fact that a Waitrose supermarket, offering a plentiful selection of groceries and ready-prepared dishes, is located next to the Gloucester Road Tube, only four minutes away.

Oak dining table comfortably seats eight people
The oak dining table, featuring a beautifully finished natural top, was specially made for this room and is complimented with matching benches on each side and two armchairs sitting at either end. With enough seating for eight, it's perfect for entertaining family and friends during your London stay.

On sunny days, step onto the terrace and dine al fresco!
This London mews home has so many great features, but one of the nicest is the private terrace with large potted trees just off the dining room. A rectangular teak table with an umbrella and seating for six means you can dine al fresco on warm days and evenings, or simply relax and enjoy a glass of wine after a long day of London sightseeing, taking in the ambiance of this exclusive neighborhood. The brick facades of Victorian homes surround you and you will pinch yourself that you have arrived in this amazing city.

Walk up the stairs of the to find the two bedrooms and two bathrooms, which also feature high ceilings, dark hardwood floors, and sea grass carpets.

Step into the master bedroom on the right and it's like stepping right into a fashion magazine. The queen-size bed is centered on an over-sized headboard, a hallmark touch of Jonathan Reeves, and is framed by two three-tiered blond wood and stainless steel bedside tables that are topped with complimenting stainless steel lamps.

Wall-to-wall closets for plenty of storage
There are tons of finely crafted built-in closets for storage, providing you with more space to move around.

We only use high-quality mattresses and linens
The mattress is the highest quality and provides an excellent night;s sleep. And, as in all of our London vacation rental apartments, you'll find that the beds are made up with only the best high thread-count linens and elegant bed coverings.

Master bedroom has a TV with DVD player
and you'll find a second TV with DVD player, making this another comfortable room in which to relax. Opposite the bed are large windows and a pair of French doors that open onto the second private terrace, also decorated with potted plants.

The bedroom terrace features a small marble topped table and two comfortable chairs - the perfect place to enjoy your coffee each morning, overlooking the quiet, cobblestone street below. Potted bay trees and flowers complete the setting! In the peaceful setting of the Kensington vacation rental, it is hard to believe that you are in the center of London, but the bustling life of the city surrounds you.

As with the terrace off the dining room, metal grills can be locked for good security, while being able to leave the doors and windows open for good ventilation.

The master bathroom is en-suite to the master bedroom of our London vacation apartment. It is immaculately finished and features a glass-enclosed shower, porcelain sink and toilet. High wooden wainscoting, modern fluorescent lighting, and duel circular mirrors scream retro chic. Next to the shower find a free-standing, stainless steel towel rack loaded with the plushest towels available.

Second bedroom has two single beds and an armchair
Find the second bedroom at the top of the stairs and on your left. This long room has two single beds and an armchair that easily flips open to make a comfortable single bed at night. Like all of the furnishings in our London vacation apartments, we use only the highest quality beds.

On the left side of the second bedroom is a long built-in desk with free wireless internet and a Nordic Stairmaster machine. Exercise buffs can take advantage of the stairmaster to stay in shape, or jog around Kensington Gardens, a few blocks away.

Second bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet
The second bathroom in this our Kensington Cottage is at the top of the stairs between the two bedrooms. While small, it is practical with a shower, a toilet, and a beaten copper sink sunk into the counter - an elegant touch! Mounted on the wall is a towel rack with more plush towels.

World-class shopping on High Street Kensington
For world-class shopping, there are the chic stores on High Street Kensington, and a 14-minute walk from the London vacation apartment to Harrods in Knightsbridge and to the designer boutiques of Sloane Street.

When you're ready to explore the rest of London you're five minutes from Gloucester Road Tube. This is one of the most convenient subway stops in London -- direct to the Theatre District, the Tower of London, Covent Garden, Piccadilly, St. Paul's, Green Park/Buckingham Palace and other famous landmarks. Or catch one of the many double-decker red buses that stop around the corner from our London rental.

Stroll to Kensington Palace, Kensington Park and Hyde Park
Stroll to Kensington Palace, Kensington Park, and Hyde Park just a few blocks away. Beautiful Kensington Palace, where Diana and Princess Margaret lived, is five minute's walk. We enjoy the tour of the State Apartments, showing period clothing from Victorian times.

There are always tons of new exhibits at the Museums nearby
Walk three to four blocks from our Kensington Cottage and you'll find the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum, and the Science Museum. You're only five minutes from the Royal Geographic Society, showcasing famous Victorian explorers such as Livingston, who set out to explore Africa.
