The vacation apartment rental is close to two beautiful gardens: next to the Chelsea Physic Gardens and a few blocks from the home of the world famous Chelsea Flower shower, the Royal Hospital. This is not a hospital, it is a retirement home for ‘Chelsea pensioners’, military veterans who served their country well. They all wear the distinctive red uniforms you see on the statue in the photo below; very British and utterly charming.
The vacation apartment rental is less than six blocks from the King’s Road and all of its famous shopping. As a fashion magazine stated, it’s the Center of the Universe when it comes to contemporary shopping. This is the flower stand and restaurant in the old Michelin Building on Sloane Avenue, now a chic Conran’s shop and restaurant.
A delightful statue of a Chelsea Pensioner on a bench, one of the military veterans who lives at the Royal Hospital. The Royal Hospital has enormous gardens and the Chelsea Flower is held here each May. The Royal Hospital is not a hospital at all but a retirement home for British soldiers. You see them walking through the gardens and doing their shopping in their beautiful red and black uniforms.
Also near our vacation apartment rental is Walton Street, famous for its distinctive boutiques and antique shops.
The Chelsea Town Hall is where many stars get married in lieu of a church wedding. It is on the King’s Road and is a short walk away from the vacation apartment rental.
