When we think about London’s Kensington neighbourhood—one of the most sought after for Londoners and travelers alike—we think of tree-lined streets, pretty garden squares, gorgeous architecture, quaint churches, quiet cobblestone lanes, and a peaceful atmosphere. Yet what makes Kensington really shine is its remarkable central location near coveted shopping spots, easy transport options, and excellent, truly local dining options right at your doorstep. You can enjoy all of the charms of Kensington with a stay at our new Eldon three-bedroom vacation rental. We are thrilled to welcome this property to the London Perfect portfolio, and we know our guests will adore it too!
This striking property is situated along a quiet mews in Kensington with a stellar location not far from Kensington Gardens and Museum Row. We’ve gushed about why you want to stay in a London mews home in the past, but if you’re not familiar with mews houses, then you have a little London treasure to discover.
Mews were historically where the stables were located in larger Victorian homes, which we admit doesn’t sound so glamorous at first. However, these quiet and often still cobble stoned streets have been transformed into luxury homes. They are now highly prized for their hidden away setting and private home entrances. Walking along a beautiful mews street with each house entrance decorated with plants and personal touches is memorable.
The Eldon is located in Kensington, in a quiet spot just near a 19th-century Gothic Revival church. You’ll feel miles away from big city living, while only being a short stroll from tube stations and excellent bus lines that provide easy access to all the sights in London. Plus, it’s just a short stroll over to beautiful Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, where you can visit Kensington Palace or walk along Kensington High Street – one of our favorite shopping streets in London. Dining out in London can be costly for families, so pick up ingredients and prepare family meals in your stylish residence. It’s a treat to eat at the Eldon with its gorgeous dining area and kitchen and we love the little details that add to its homey feel.
The bright and completely modern kitchen is equipped with everything needed for cooking a delicious meal, including a dishwasher for a quick and easy clean up. Our guests instantly feel at home at Eldon and relish dinnertime. It’s also the perfect place to host friends, with its commodious layout.
The Eldon has three charming bedrooms and two full bathrooms along with a separate powder room. When the sofa in the living room is opened to create a comfortable sleeping space, this mews home can welcome up to eight guests. Decorated with luxury linens and a classic English design, this rental offers a unique London experience.
The master bedroom features a stylish yellow sofa and lounge area, with a TV mounted on the wall above for relaxing viewing in bed. Even though the home has a long history, the design inside is fresh and contemporary. The use of uplifting light hues and clean lines ensures a bright and sumptuous London base.
The second bedroom features a full en-suite bathroom with a large walk-in shower, toilet and sink. Guests in the other two bedrooms will find another full bathroom with bathtub and shower, toilet, and sink. For guests staying in the living room, the powder room is also located on the lower level.
From the third bedroom, there are charming views of the Gothic Revival style church just across the street from the Eldon. This sunny room has twin beds, snug bedding, and colorful touches. Children or adults will enjoy a restful night here.
Step outside to explore the elegant Kensington neighborhood, with its sophisticated streets and classic London architecture. You’ll love returning home to this beautiful area after a day of sightseeing in London. It’s the perfect London address.
Nearby you’ll find Museum Row, which is home to the Natural History Museum and Science Museum – both offering a world of fun for the whole family.
